Tomorrowland (A Lazy Afternoon chat and a movie at CCK Lot 1)

“What if there was a secret place where nothing is impossible.”

“Why do you love the stars so much?”  To which she replies, “Because I want to go there.”

“Even the tinniest of actions could change the future.”

“There are two wolves always fighting.  Darkness and despair and light and hope.  Which one wins?”  To which her father replies, “Which ever one you feed.”

“Dreamers need to stick together.  It’s not programming.  It’s personal.”

“There is always a chance of a better future.”

(Review) My thoughts on Tomorrowland- worth a watch?

For anyone who has not caught Tomorrowland, it is pretty worth a watch.I had an impromptu movie watch with my best friend today and I have to say, the movie has surpassed my expectations (I went in expecting that the movie would be average) :)

Tomorrowland Movie Reviews 2015 Tomorrowland Review

Tomorrowland is set as a science fiction film and trades of a vision of an alternate future where anything is possible.

The film begins as a dialogue, a discussion between Frank, played by George Clooney and Casey, by Britt Robertson, a contest between who could tell the best version of how the events actually set about.

Then came one of my favorite parts of the movie where young Franks visits the 1964's World Fair where he presents his homemade jet pack. Though his invention was rejected since it could not work on a 'technical level', he meets a young girl named Athena.

5 o'clock. Tomorrow badge pin.

Upon receiving it, he follows her through a ride, scrambles for a helmet and finds himself in an alternate world. There, a robot fixes his jet pack where he uses it and saves himself from an impending catastrophic fall.

Tomorrowland Movie rocket scene Tomorrowland Review

By then, I was already quite excited as to what would be happening next and was quite gripped by the plot. The film switches back to the discussion between Frank and Casey, and I was a little disappointed that it transitioned to Casey's series of events. I wanted more of young Frank and Athena

Nonetheless, it was exciting to see how Casey ventured into Tomorrowland. During her journey, she bashed robots with the help of Athena, escaped from a holographic dog, destroyed George's house (he has a really cool house that destructs intruders on command) and traveled on a rocket via the Eiffel tower at Paris.

I won't spoil the rest of the movie :) The ending was a little abrupt and I really wished there could had been a part II. I loved the concept, but felt that it somehow could have progressed even better.

I have a thing for time/dimension travel movies.

I still like it, and you should watch if you haven't, and give it a chance.

On another note,

I really like how the film plays on the idea of dreamers.

"Dreamers need to stick together. It is not programming. It is personal."

Aptly placed, if you don't have a vision, then how do you create the future which you want?

If you can't dream it, then how do you set yourself to work towards it?

Happy Vday

It has been really difficult so far trying to cope with so many things in life but I'm really thankful for the people who have been supportive of me.

I am also working really hard in my life, and putting in quite alot of effort, which has also sapped me quite abit mentally

True friends are hard to come by, and I would like to distant myself from ties which I feel do not help me to be a better person, and of course forge new friendships

And be a better person

Happy Vday everyone.

This Semester

It is the beginning of the semester yet I feel that I need a long break, a really long break to visit a new place, anywhere that can offer me a contrasting culture and sights to savour will do

I would like to stay in that place for a period of time, say maybe five months. Immerse myself in there and come back rejuvenated.

Last year 2014, I had been feeling burnt out and overwhelmed with too many things to do and focus on. Life seemed to have given me little joy, and I have been preoccupied with school stuff and getting my work done.

This year, I  have made some new friends through my course modules and life seems to have given me more opportunities than what seemed kind of dull at 2014. Thank you Universe! Much love.

I am taking 5 modules this sem, as per usual, which consists of a few 4000 level modules which I hope I will be ok with! I am also taking an interesting entrepreneurship module at Biz and so far I am really enjoying the seminar. The prof is interesting, and he really drills us on the importance of being "thick-skinned", as quoted by him.

Some things for 2015 for me would be:

So far, I like my group-mates for my modules in general.

Life has blessed and surrounded me with new people whom I have met through coincidences, and can help me grow along the way as a person. I also hope to get to know them better.

I have made new friends who are supportive and can do things together or hang out with, I think they are really a blessing and also hope we can be better friends in time.

I have joined a project for recreational purposes which I hope to see it take off.

I managed to take 4000 level modules.

I have been assigned certain responsibilities/roles for my modules which I usually would be a little apprehensive but I am doing my best to plan things well.

I am participating in class more.

I am more organized.

I thank life for the opportunities conferred and hope to see myself grow further in time.
